Cookies on Gatmer Vakti
This site keeps two cookies — one to sign you in, one to remember your language — and stores your saved recipes and meal plan in your own browser. There is no advertising and nothing is tracked across other sites.
What Gatmer Vakti stores about you, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

You can read every recipe on this site without an account and without telling us anything about yourself. If you make an account we store what you give us and what you post. There is no advertising, no analytics service and no tracking across other websites.
Quite a lot of the app never reaches us. Your saved recipes, meal plan, shopping checklist, private recipe notes, unit and theme preferences, recently viewed recipes, and which recipes you've reacted to or marked as cooked are all kept in your own browser's local storage.
That means they are not backed up, they don't follow you to another device, and clearing your browser data deletes them.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you (running your account), and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and functioning.
We don't sell your data and we don't share it for advertising. Some suppliers process it on our behalf so the site can run:
Your account and what you've published stay until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your profile and unpublishes your recipes.
Videos you upload for import are deleted once the recipe has been drafted. Server logs are kept only as long as our host retains them.
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Most of it you can do yourself from your account settings.
If you are in the UK or the EU you can also complain to your national data protection authority.
To make a request, write to the contact form on this site.
This site isn't aimed at children under 16 and we don't knowingly keep their data. If a child has made an account, write to us and we'll remove it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
